'The Walking Dead': Andrew Lincoln talks zombies, action and humor
Andrew Lincoln, the star of AMC's "The Walking Dead," has thought a lot about zombies. The British actor, who attended the premiere screening in Hollywood the night before, sits down with Zap2it after taping the KTLA Morning Show to discuss how humans react when thrust into a horrific situation.
On the show, Lincoln plays Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes who, after getting shot in the line of duty, wakes from a coma into a full-blown zombie apocalypse.
"I hope [the audience] surprised," Lincoln says. "I hope they have the same reaction I did when I read the pilot, which was I'd never read anything quite like it. Also, I think it's brutal, brave and brilliant filmmaking.
"You get to see these characters under great duress ... so they react in extreme ways. You get to see people being extremely bad and extremely good and all the colors in between, and I think that for an actor is one of the great challenges."
In our interview, he also chats about why he likes the action side of the show, the humor and the mysterious appeal of zombies. Take a look:
