'The Vampire Diaries' newest vamp: 'Supernatural's' Lauren Cohan to play Rose

There's a new vampire in Mystic Falls, "Vampire Diaries" fans. Sources confirm to Zap2it that "Supernatural's" Lauren Cohan will be sinking her teeth into the role of Rose, a tough, sexy vampire who might just catch Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) eye.But then again, doesn't everybody?
Rose is over 500 years old and described as disarmingly elegant despite a "tough girl" first impression. Five centuries of bloodsucking have given her a certain edge. "Maybe there's some humanity left in her -- have fun finding it," my source says.
She's expected to make her first appearance in Episode 8, titled "Rose" -- yeah, she's kind of a big deal.
Cohan is best known for her role as the mercenary Bela Talbot on "Supernatural." She had a coy love-hate flirtation with Dean (Jensen Ackles) and appeared in Sam's (Jared Padalecki) dirty dreams. If she can get those two all hot and bothered, I think she'll fit in just fine with the Mystic Falls gang.

According to the sides released, she is the vampire who holds Elena hostage. Damon is sleeping with Elena's kidnapper? Wow. There aren't even words to describe how pissed off I am right now. They are supposed to be repairing D/E. Instead they have Damon do this? It's just out of character and plain wrong. Especially considering if this is after the kidnapping debacle which goes down in episode 7.

@tiffy I agree with you! I want Damon to be with Elena, but seeing as how everything we've read lately says it's not gonna happen, I want him to get some happiness for himself, even if it's just a bit of physical release.
Great show. My favourite parts of the show is when Damon is hooking up with a bunch of beautiful women. Didn't like it when he started acting like a puppy dog following Elena around. That was sooo boring. He is at his best game when he is a badass/killer/scarey manwhore.
don't worry guys Damon and Elena are meant to be together it's inavitable so relax. the writers need time to rebuild Delena and rebiuld it beautifully so unyill tath I really wanna see Sexy Damon in action he needs to chill out and have some fun

I'm betting she is in Mystic Falls for Katherine - after all every newcomer so far has a direct link to her.
Hopefully she's not only going to sleep with Damon, but is also going kick some Katherine butt :)
