'The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder: Damon is over Katherine

Zap2it caught up with "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder at the 2010 Scream Awards (and trust me, there was plenty of screaming) and had to get the scoop on Damon, Katherine, and those pesky, sexy werewolves.

Somerhalder was at the event with his vampire cohorts, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley, but he was also in the house because "Lost" was being honored. "I figured after six year they probably would've forgotten about me and not included me in anything, since they killed my ass in the first season."

As we've seen in promos for next week's "Vampire Diaries," Damon isn't playing Mr. Nice Vamp with Katherine (Dobrev) anymore. But in this twisted world, just because he's hunting her, it doesn't necessarily mean he's over her... or is he?

Somerhalder says they're finished. "You know, I think he's done with her. Katherine's a bitch," he laughs. And as for a showdown between Damon and Katherine's wolfy beau, Mason (Taylor Kinney): "Yeah, that's coming," Somerhalder says, giving me his patented Damon smirk.

"There is a major showdown and it was a lot of long days of shooting. Taylor's awesome, we adore each other, and it's so funny that we have to hate each other. He's a sweetie pie, and he's one handsome son of a bitch."

No arguments here.
