NBC picks up 'The Event,' 'LOLA,' 'Outsourced'
NBC has joined the fall pickup party, giving full-season orders to three of its new shows."The Event," "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and "Outsourced" all got their back-nine orders on Monday afternoon (Oct. 18). None of the three has performed exceptionally well in the ratings, but the network hopes they can become stable building blocks for the future.
"We are pleased with the quality of 'The Event,' 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' and 'Outsourced,' and feel they are an important part of helping to rebuild our schedule and our studio pipeline," NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad says. "We believe in these new series and the creative auspices behind them."
(All three shows are produced by Universal Media Studios, NBC's corporate sibling.)
"The Event" is averaging 9.1 million viewers per episode and a 3.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo (all numbers include DVR playback for the first two weeks of the season). Ratings for its live broadcasts have declined each week so far, but it's getting a pretty good-sized bump in the live-plus-7 ratings. NBC also notes that "The Event" has performed far better than "Trauma" did in the 9 p.m. Monday timeslot last season (it averaged 6.2 million viewers through this time in 2009).
"LOLA" also draws about 9.1 million viewers per week, while "Outsourced" brings in 6.3 million people per week.

Pick Up CHUCK for a full season and move it to the old ER time slot!
Really good news at NBC still no word on the fate of three of my faves: Chuck, Chase and Undercovers. Wish the spy comedy-drama could definitely be moving to a new time 9 p.m. on Wednesday or getting a new night and/or time and I still don't know when the new season of Parks & Recreation going to air.
Lolz... this press release really says "these shows suck, but we've got nothing better to show you... so you're stuck"
Wow is this woman cluless as to what she (Bromstad) thinks is good quality programming. Outsourced gets a renewal and yet they still keep that awful Apprentice on with its dismal numbers? I think the next one to go after Silverman and Zucker have been shown the door will be Bromstad. This woman is a tool and a butt kisser to boot.
Sigh. Outsourced gets picked up and Community will likely be cancelled this year. I love you world. You are full of such smart people.
Chuck doesn't need to be picked up for a full season. It already is. These are new shows they're talking about.
Started watching Hawaii 5-o and did not like it, some good scenery, that's all, vulgar actors, still watch the old episodes with Jack Lord, changed to Chase and I enjoyed it, I am watching Chase every week. Also, I like Law & Order LA.
A very weak set of shows that should have been cancelled. I'll stick to music instead.
yay, glad to hear Outsourced was renewed. it's better than some ppl are giving it credit for!
Community is 100000 times better than Outsourced.... If Community gets canceled for Outsourced, then NBC deserves the right to be behind the CW for the worst network.... Community has value/stories/points.... All Outsourced has is jokes about a foreign country.... If you watch both shows and you have a high school degree, you will know which show is better.
