MTV shuts down 'Bridge & Tunnel' reality series for being too 'Jersey'
Angelina Pivarnick isn't the only one MTV sent packing back to Staten Island lately.
While MTV has found a hit in "Jersey Shore," it seems that the network doesn't believe that lightning will hit the same place twice for new Staten Island-based reality series, "Bridge & Tunnel."
According to our sources, MTV has shut down production on the new reality show, because it was too similar to another situation on the network, "Jersey Shore." The show features a group of young people from New York's Staten Island trying to move on up to Manhattan. The network previously screened an excerpt of the show at Upfronts last year. At one point, the show was scheduled to premiere later this month on the network.
Our sources tell us that the crew has been shooting for the past three months in New York before production was halted about two weeks ago. As of now, the series will probably never see the light of day. We're told that the network has no plans for the footage to go into editing.
MTV declined to comment for this story.

I personally am shocked. When has MTV ever NOT exploited the success of one of their shows by repeating it over and over again. I can't imagine anything being so bad that even MTV wouldn't air it.
its not like jersey shore at all.. nothing like it.. people fight just like the housewives fight? im sorry are they jersey shore? no. are we a bunch of strangers that live in a house? no. were actual friends with actual drama for you to follow . we dont just go to a club and have sex with animals.
I can't believe that they will not air bridge and tunnel. They are out of their minds. I now live in Las Vegas and my friends in Staten Island told me about this show. I know these girls and they are hysterical. They are also hot. They are no way Jersey Shore. You can't even compare them to Jersey Shore. These are beautiful girls not skanks. They deserve a break. Jersey Shore sucks.

I am very upset that this show isn't going to be airing. These girls are hilarious and hot and would be a major hit on MTV. This is a very poor decision on MTV's part, and I hope they change their mind. I know tons of people that were looking forward to this show and I hope they reconsider.
