'Modern Family' stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet say 'It gets better'
TV's most high profile gay couple, "Modern Family's" Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are taking a stand against bullying, in character and as themselves, in the latest "It Gets Better" PSA.
Shot on the "Modern Family" set, the spot includes a confession from Ferguson about his own experiences with bullying.
"I was actually bullied a lot as a kid," says Ferguson. "I actually had to leave 8th grade and go to another school it got so bad. I was picked on for being 'different.' And then, at my 10-year high school reunion, I was suddenly celebrated for being 'different.'
A serious subject indeed, but the guys couldn't take it on without also having a little fun. Just watch for yourself:

Apparently it's perfectly OK for straight kids to get bullied into suicide.
Oh good, I thought by the title of the story you meant the show gets better.....like I care.
@Eric: Oh come on, no one said that. But the suicide rate among gay teenagers is much higher than that among straights, usually because with this topic the hatred becomes stronger and the attacks more fierce. Also straight kids will usually have easier access to support from their home and community than some gay kids for whom the abuse continues when they get home and can still not feel accepted for who they are... but bullying should stop in general. Glad I was able to have a high school experience without bullying of anyone, especially in a violent way.
This show has to be the most overated sit com in recent memory. They take emsemble cast to a whole new level. EVERY cast member EVERY week must get a scene, including ALL THE KIDS. If the scene does not include the father or Cameron, the scene is not funny. Watched every episdoe last year and now this season's sluggish start in my mind had me deleting it from my DVR.
I completely misunderstood the "It gets better." I thought it was referring to the show, the last few episodes where not so great. Besides weak kids commit suicide.
@ Ethan
