'Lie to Me': Behind the scenes of the 'offbeat' photo shoot

There's definitely a different flavor to "Lie to Me" in its Season 3 return -- lots of anger and frustration.

Emotions are running high at the Lightman Group, and it doesn't just have to do with the cases they're taking on. There's definitely internal strife as well, and we can see that there's a darker feel in this photo shoot.

The various cast members call the shoot "edgier" and "offbeat."

We think it looks pretty nifty. We wouldn't want to be around Lightman with a sledgehammer. Here's one of the photos of the cast:

I may have to stop watching if Tim Roth doesn't stop over-acting with all the mugging, rolling eyes, loose lips and facial ticks. It didn't bother me until this season, so he must have upped the wattage. Whether it's the director's idea or his, I wish he'd tone it down.

Well, only one episode so far but I really liked it! Can't wait for the conflicts between Lightman and the crew!

That's because the photo is darker? as you said: we can see that there's a darker feel in this photo shoot.

I got really frustrated now. I'm a big fan of the show and I followed this link from the updates of Lie to Me profile on Facebook and the surprise: "the video you are trying to watch cannot be viewed from your country or location." It's not a nice practice concerning the number of fans this show has in Brazil. I Hope you will review this practice.

this image is hilarious-- terrible comping in photoshop that makes Mr. Roth look like he's got two different sized arms, has a telephone pole growing out of Ms. William's head, and lighting makes no sense at all.lOL, Yay art director yay!

fail comment is fail. ^

I too was distracted Tim Roth's many facial expressions and hand gestures. Tone it down. It disrupts the story line.

I like all the facial tick and gestures and wonder if you are all a bit too critical expecting this man to have a smooth past without as many problems he's had on his resume. He is an unstable but very enlightened man who can tell people's lies because he is not your average guy with a happy american yuppy upbringing and straight A's through school onto college and then into a business because of great insight due to academia. He is a disciplined powder keg that calms down for the sake of his daughter and the people around him. Taken out of this environment, I could see him throwing down with almost anyone to make a point or find the truth behind the lies. Lighten up and read some depth into WHY he might be so quirky. Maybe it is his way of throwing a wrench into others being able to read him easily. I have loved the show since Barak Obama giving McCain "the finger!" Facial ticks, arm movements and all... go for it, I am a true fan of IT ALL!

I seriously wonder if Tim Roth has a medical problem that makes him move so much.

I too am distracted by all the tics, weird body language and facial expressions by Tim Roth the actor. The poor guy looks like he's on Meth.
