'Human Target': Mark Valley says wait is worth it
Mark Valley hasn't gotten much extra breathing room, though the return of "Human Target" has been delayed. The second-season premiere of his DC Comics-inspired FOX action series was moved from early October to Wednesday, Nov. 17, as part of the domino-effect rescheduling set off by the quick cancellation of "Lone Star." That change came just days before "Human Target" was to debut its new round, and the show has stayed at the production pace originally intended.
"I don't really feel like we're taking any time off or having a break," Valley tells Zap2it. "I don't know if they're going to order more episodes, but things definitely haven't slowed down for us, that's for sure."
Valley's very physical "Human Target" character, Christopher Chance, remains a bodyguard-for-hire. This time around, he gets added resources from an extremely wealthy woman (new cast member Indira Varma) who claims she wants to be his benefactor, not his boss.
"It's like taking the first season and putting it in somewhat of a separate setting," explains Valley, who's about to start work on the seventh of the 13 new episodes commissioned so far. "It actually feels like a spin-off of the first season."
