'Castle' preview: Thank heaven for little girls
What's up with this show and guns? We realize that crime-solving comes with its share of ballistics, but the most recent two episodes of "Castle" have been particularly firearm-filled. That does not change with the Oct. 11 outing, "Punked," which features Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) trying to discover a killer who uses 200-year-old bullets.
But vintage pistols are not the real draw this week. This episode marks the debut of "Secret Life of the American Teenager" star Ken Baumann's stint as Ashley, Alexis Castle's (Molly Quinn) new boyfriend. Needless to say, the gender-neutral name catches her father off guard. We're not sure why he feels compelled to pull a gun on them both, but that's Castle for you.
We hope Ashley isn't easily scared off, if only to give her more screen time for Quinn. Castle Jr. and Sr. have one of the better father/daughter relationships on TV.

If it wasn't for Castle and it's embracing of every age group- 15-80 year olds!- I'd start investing in books. Just finished Naked Heat. Not as good as Heat Wave but still worth the read. I don't know where the author can take the characters from there but now at least the duct taping himself to a chair episode makes sense!
I love this father/daughter relationship. Last night's episode had so many sweet moments between them. And some hilarious ones as well!
