'Brothers & Sisters' preview: Rebecca's last stand

After watching Sunday's (Oct. 17) episode of "Brothers & Sisters," be prepared to feel a bit down as Emily VanCamp says goodbye to the show.
We weren't sure how the writers would pull it off. How could they sell their millions of viewers on a storyline that saw Rebecca say goodbye with so much still so unsettled in her life?
And before watching the episode, it felt almost cruel for the producers to let her go after all that we've (and the Walkers) have gone through to accept her into the mix.
The bright side is we don't think you'll be disappointed. The show has definitely pulled it off. Somehow, they've made it so it makes good sense that she leaves. And with all the build up to her exit, that's quite a feat.
We have nothing but praise for Dave Annable (Justin) and Patricia Wettig's (Holly) performances in this episode. And we're absolutely going to miss the easy, effortless talent VanCamp brings to her storylines.
At the same time, Justin and Rebecca aren't the only bumpy romance stories in this episode:

- Some of the family actually gets to meet the man Saul (Ron Rifkin) has been on Cloud 9 over ("No Ordinary Family's" Stephen Collins) when he gets pulled into a tiny family emergency. Can Saul close the deal?
- Kitty (Calista Flockhart) continues to spend time with the very simple (and handsome) handyman from Ojai ("Army Wives'" Jeremy Davidson), but she strives to answer the question, "Is it too soon after Robert's death?"
- Even Sarah's (Rachel Griffiths) young son, Cooper (10-year-old Maxwell Perry Cotton), gets into the action! They grow up so fast!
Are you prepared to say goodbye to Rebecca? Come back here after the episode, as well, and tell us what you think!

I loved Rebecca and I am going to miss her character. While I understand that her character has been underdeveloped lately, I saw great potential for a better season. I did like that the episode did not completely cut off her story line for a possible return in the future...just in case Emily Van Camp or the writers change their minds!
well i think it sucks that rebecca is gone. i wanted there to be at least one good relationship on the show that worked out.why did you even let it start again if you were going to end it.i realize that people have to do what they have to in real life but it sure does screw up a show for those of us watching. maybe?
Of course, bring her back!!!
Why? It was a real relationship, and you could have taken it so much further!!!
Dumb!
Dumb move by an increasingly unrealistic and dumb show. Emily is an incredible actress which showed in the Rebecca character. I picked this show up because of Emily and will be putting it back down now that she's no longer with the show.
When characters start getting cut to bring down operating expenses, namely so select individuals can have their monetary demands met, then it's time to end the show.
KB
I can now stop watch B&S. The show has gotten boring and probably be canceled.
LOL-People are going to stop watching because of Rebecca???
She was a good Character in Seasons one and two, but ever since season 3- she has only been a loud, whining, screaming, annoyance. I like how they had her exit- as it shows some respect to the character these writers ruined
Rob Lowe was a more tragic loss than Emily.
If Calista Flockhart, Sally Field, or David Annabelle EVER left- THEN I would be done.
