Adam Lambert's 'It Gets Better' message: 'You have to be strong'

"American Idol" finalist Adam Lambert has filmed a contribution to the "It Gets Better" campaign by The Trevor Project, which is in response to the rash of bullied gay youth committing suicides.

Lambert says, "It gets better. It seems hard. I think being different is always going to be a tough climb. There's always people that are scared of it. But at the end of the day, you give those bullies and people that are so ignorant and fearful of their lifestyle, if you give them the power to affect you, you're letting them win and they don't deserve that."

"What you're doing by being who you are is you're keeping it real and you're being really brave. I believe in you, I think it's great. There are a ton of us out here in this world that are just like you and believe in you."

"I'm living my dream and even I get bullied. You look under any comment areas on any article and there's bullies in there ... I'm singled out and it's all gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, even though there's so much more to me than who I choose to sleep with."

"You have to be strong and you have to pay attention to the positive."

There are a lot of small minded people out there who hide behind a keyboard and spew out hate because they have nothing going on in their own lives. It's kind of sad. When I read an article about Adam and see some of the comments I just pity those people. What a sad life they must have to feel so much anger and hatred. There are a lot of different people in the world. People need to accept that. Not everyone is the same. What a boring world it would be if they were.

Adam YOU inpire all kids to BELIEVE in themselves!!! Don't you ever change!!! Your fans love you!!

you are an awesome person. congatulations on all you have achieved.

To the Gay Teens reading this. Kill your f.u.c.k.i.n.g self.

I think it has just as much to do with ignorance than hate. People don't realize how damaging words can be.
Take our very own Nikki here. She probably thinks she's funny in some twisted way.

There will always be people with different choices. Homely children are bullied, quiet children are bullied as well as adults. Bullies are cowards. Always have been. NO ONE has the right to judge another no matter what. Period! The internet has made it a small world. The do-gooders are the worst. They should sweep their doorsteps first. Someday in the future there will be no bullying and we will have peace. That will be a great time. I read Mr. Lamberts comment. He rocks. He has a God given talen. He is sharing it with us. We are lucky. What idiot would judge him. I am 75 and love his voice. People who judge should move on with their lives.

You have a talent that is bigger than being "Gay." People with small mind just see gay. You are so much more than that ..you are a human being and those who choose to see with narrow mind are just that...narrow minded. I simply love you and respect the fact that you are just being a person who isn't different but a creation of God.

Adam, you're a great role model to all. You take it on the chin and hold your head up high. I'm glad you are using your talent to be such an inspiration to those fighting to fit in. Shock value in your performances is not needed to thumb your nose at the bigots. Your talent and success will do that for you!

Thank you!!!!

"It's all gay, gay, gay, gay, gay."

Coming from this guy? Methinks he doth protest too much, though I'll concede that he might just be inadvertently living up to a gay stereotype.

I might also add that his quote fits this website to a tee.
