'Weeds,' 'The Big C' renewed by Showtime

"Weeds" and "The Big C," Showtime's Monday night double-headed dramedies, have been renewed for another season, the network announced Monday (Sept. 20)."The unprecedented viewership for both 'The Big C' and 'Weeds' proves that audiences love these shows as much as we do," says Showtime President of Entertainment David Nevins. "There are definitely more comedic adventures in store for these fascinating, complex women."
"For six seasons, we've happily traveled along with Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) and we're equally as excited to follow Laura Linney and 'The Big C' team as they chart Cathy's unique journey through such a provocative and personal subject as cancer," continues Nevins. "We're thrilled that these two signature shows will be returning to the network in 2011."
It will be the seventh season of "Weeds" and the second of "The Big C." The showrunner told us that each season of "The Big C" will be a different season of the year, so the second season should continue Cathy's journey into the fall of her battle with cancer.
"Weeds" and "The Big C" air Monday nights at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET on Showtime. Are you excited they're coming back next summer?

I'm kind of over Weeds, though this season has been better than the past two. I am loving The Big C.

I love the big C so excited it will be on for another season. i purchased showtime just to watch this show awesome. through marlene will be very missed
love these shows. I thought weeds was over, but i am glad it will be back. i wonder what is going to happen. Will nancy be in it? Love the big C. Maybe her son will put the twenty dollars back since he found the presents. At least he shows emotion now. Great shows.

I'm super excited that Weeds and The Big C are coming back this year! I love both shows, and both ladies are amazing actresses! Kudos to Laura Linney for her Golden Globe award for best actress in a TV series! Can't wait to see what kinda trouble both ladies get into! :) I'm lucky I work with DISH and have their TV everywhere with the Sling Adapter, I'll be able to watch both shows straight through my Iphone where ever I happen to be!
