Vincent D'Onofrio returning to 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' for 10th season

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" is returning to USA for its tenth season and star Vincent D'Onofrio is on board, the USA Network announced Tuesday (Sept. 21). This 10th season of the series is possibly the last. D'Onofrio left the series after the eighth season, but will return to the franchise for its final eight new episodes that will air in 2011 and will serve as a wrap-up for the series, says USA
D'Onofrio did appear in the two-part premiere of Season 9 that aired this past spring on March 30 and April 6, where his character Detective Robert Goren passed the reins of the Major Case Squad to Detective Zack Nichols (Jeff Goldblum). There is no word yet as to how many episodes of the 10th season will include D'Onofrio, but he did tease in September 2009 when his departure was announced that he "wouldn't be surprised if Goren pops up from time to time."

As long as 'Shirley Bellinger' the lovely Kathryn Erbe is back as well this news is fantastic. Still the strongest of the L and O franchise.

again. I quit when Donofrio left. He and Erbe made that show. It was not the same after they left. Whoop-de-doo
I agree with lheartvincent, I simply love Vincent D'Onofrio. I am glad he is returning for the final season. I hate that Criminal Intent is signing off, but is befitting that the show should end with Vincent and preferably Kathryn Erbe.
Vincent will be missed on Criminal Intent, I don't think I'll be watching it anymore.
i agree with all the other comments glad to see vincent come back to law and order ci sorry to see that the show is ending but a least we'll get to see him solving the cases again
Loved L & O CI for a long time. Although, once they started showing episodes of Goren dealing with his personal issues, i.e., his brother, mother and old guy mentor I found the show was derailing and I lost interest. Plus, too many episodes of that British psychopath woman who called him, "Bubby" made my interest wane, as well. Hopefully, they will put G & E back where they belong...solving cases! What about Saffran Burrows? She did a great job.
