USA renews 'White Collar,' 'Psych,' 'Royal Pains'; Rob Riggle meets 'Chuck'
Enjoy some TV snacks as you while away the afternoon ...USA has picked up three of its series -- "White Collar," "Royal Pains" and "Psych" -- for additional seasons. All three were regularly placed in the upper echelons of the cable ratings over the summer. [USA]
Former "Daily Show" correspondent Rob Riggle will guest on an episode of "Chuck" later this fall. He'll play an off-kilter CIA agent brought in to help further Chuck's (Zachary Levi) training. [EW]
Sonia Braga is coming to Pasadena. The "Kiss of the Spider Woman" star guest on a Thanksgiving episode of "Brothers & Sisters" as Luc's (Gilles Marini) mother. [TV Guide]
ABC Family has given the green light to three pilots: "Nine Lives," about a teenage girl who discovers she has superpowers; "Switched at Birth," about two teens who were, you guessed it, switched at birth; and "Strut," a "Glee"-esque show about a high school drill team. [ABC Family]
Sony is launching a 24-hour movie channel on Friday (Oct. 1) dedicated to the 3,500 films in its library. The commercial-free channel launches on DISH Network, on-demand and "authenticated online platforms" but no major cable systems yet. [Sony]
"The Wire" and "Treme" creator David Simon is among the 23 winners of this year's MacArthur Fellowship, aka the "genius grant." [Washington Post]

Wow, ABC Family is desperate. They're already ripping off their own shows currently on the air as well as rival networks shows. And the twins switched at birth thing has already been done. Sister, Sister anyone? I'll pass on all three. Good for White Collar. I love that show....and mega hottie Matt Bomer. I'd let him do just about anything he wanted to do to me in the sack. Giggity.
