'Lone Star' canceled, 'Lie to Me' to debut in its time slot
The first casualty of the fall TV season is "Lone Star." The Tim Roth show "Lie to Me" will debut its third season in "Lone Star's" time slot Monday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, FOX announced Tuesday (Sept. 28).FOX confirms to Zap2it that "Lone Star" is "being removed off the schedule ... at this point in time." No new date or time has been announced, so it is safe to say that "Lone Star" is canceled. Despite wide-spread critical acclaim (and Zap2it's own campaign to save the con man drama), the ratings it drew for its first two episodes were nowhere near salvageable.
Presumably "Hell's Kitchen" will remain two hours on Wednesday nights, since "Lie to Me" was supposed to air after it on Wednesday nights, but is now moving to Mondays. In the premiere episode, "In The Red," Lightman (Tim Roth) goes to great lengths to prevent a man fueled by revenge (guest star Shawn Doyle, "Big Love") from robbing a bank.

Sorry to hear Lie to Me moving to this slot. It seems like a tough one and I would hate to see that show get canceled .
As to lonestar I did see the first two episodes and it was just a show that was uniformly sad/depressing and would obviously never leave the viewer happy till the end of the series.
Funny how people watch shows like "Bleep my dad says" and not this, by far the best new show this season.
Hopefully this is saved by a cable network...
I agree with what someone said above. It's a shame that shows like DWTS and Bleep my Dad Says rake in the ratings yet something that, while a bit depressed, but extremely high quality all around isn't even given a chance. Can't say I blame FOX since they didn't really have a choice, but it's a shame that this is what tv has come to that shows aren't given a chance to grow and gain an audience. I am hoping James Wolk is quick to find new work because I think his performance has stood out, especially in last night's episode. Definitely a talented fresh face.
Look at the network it was on. No one should ever expect a new drama series on Fox to last more than 2-3 episodes. If it does, then that's a miracle. Fringe is a miracle for having survived so long and that's mostly because Fox was starving for another X-Files.
Yes! Glad that show is gone. I can tell you why there were so few female viewers - we won't root for some loser who is cheating on two women, so why even bother watching?
Remember The Beautiful Life: TBL on The CW that show starring Mischa Barton & Corbin Bleu? Yeah that was the same situation last year.
That SUCKS !
Exactly, JP...totally agree.
What a joke. People like reality crap TV. It's really sad and pathetic.
Lone Star should go on a cable network..
We all saw it coming. 'Lie To Me' is one of my very, very favorite shows, so I can't say I'm sorry to see it back, but the people responsible for not marketing 'Lone Star' enough, for scheduling it against 'DWTS' & CBS comedies, really need to rethink how they do things. 'Lone Star' was really probably going to be a great show with the beautiful girl from 'FNL' & a stunning guy in a new, twisty story. I was looking forward to seeing a whole season.
