Jon Stewart leads Rally to Restore Sanity, Stephen Colbert counters with March to Keep Fear Alive

jon-stewart-rally-icon.gifComedy Central hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are at it again. On October 30, "a date of no significance whatsoever," they'll be leading opposing rallies in Washington, D.C.

In response to hysteria of "people who believe that Obama is a secret Muslim planning a socialist takeover of America so he can force his radical black liberation Christianity down our throats," Stewart's rally is in favor of keeping peace. He also targets people who believe "George Bush let 9/11 happen to help pad Dick Cheney's Haliburton stock portfolio."

The rally encourages maintaining respectful disagreements, and not drawing Hitler moustaches on people unless "that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles."

On the other side, Stewart's frenemy Steven Colbert will lead the March to Keep Fear Alive. "There are dark, optimistic forces trying to take away our Fear -- forces with salt and pepper hair and way more Emmys than they need," Colbert says. "They want to replace our Fear with reason. But never forget -- 'Reason' is just one letter away from 'Treason.' Coincidence? Reasonable people would say it is, but America can't afford to take that chance."

They must hate that Glen Beck and Spongebob Square Pants get better ratings then both of them combined! Don't belive me? Check the top 25 cable ratings. I'm sure Stewart's 14 writers will give him alot of fun lines, they better earn those "EMMYS".

These guys are total idiots! I used to have some respect for Stewart but no he's even worse than that pinhead Colbert.

These two are awesome. Smart and funny. What a combo!

Stewart keeps winning EMMYs only no one cares that he keeps winning EMMYs except for his writers and Hollywood types. Their take on comedy is more sad then funny. What seems to be the real news to his pot-head slacker college frat demo, is just plain out-of-touch with Joe SixPack. Those two can keep each other company next to Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow in the ratings basement. The only thing consistently funny on Comedy Central is South Park and that is because they don't have a bias: they make fun of everyone.

I love both of their shows. Anybody that actually takes these rallies seriously well dont show up because you are the ones the rally is for lol.

"Pot head slacker college frat?" Umm, I'm a hard-working American with a master's degree who LOVES the Daily Show, thank you very much.

^ i agree. love Stewart and Colbert and i'm def not a "pot head slacker!" they're just plain funny.

Comedy Centeral: Where comedy went to die.

Apparently Zap2It it has a pretty GOP leaning reader base. Who know?

Fun fact: Jon Stewart has been named America's most trusted newsman from a survey conducted by TIME magazine.

@ Josh; Of corse TIME would say that.
