The bloody Season 6 finale thinned out the medical staff of Seattle Grace, but now "Grey's Anatomy" is staffing back up.

An ABC spokesperson has confirmed to Zap2it that former model-turned-actress in the "Transformers" movie, Rachael Taylor, will be joining for a recurring role.

According to EW, the Australian actress will be joining mid-season. And while her character is still being defined, she's definitely playing a doctor and not just some hot new nurse or patient.

Fans will remember her as Maggie Madsen in the blockbuster Michael Bay film. She also played opposite Joshua Jackson in the film, "Shutter." With very few TV acting roles, she appeared in the Australian series, "Headland," set on a college campus. She's currently filming the movie, "The Darkest Hour."

I hope it's just for a couple of episodes. Nothing against the actress, but Grey's already has a large enough cast and has added to many newbies over the last couple of seasons. The writers need to focus on the character that the fans care about: the originals.
