'Glee': Darren Criss joins as a new gay character
"Glee's" Kurt Hummell could be a very busy boy this fall.Actor Darren Criss, who appeared on the short-lived "Eastwick," is the lastest fresh face to be cast on "Glee," FOX confirms to Zap2it. He'll play a gay student who sings with a rival glee club. The news was first reported by EW.
The character's description naturally means he could be a contender for Kurt's (Chris Colfer) love interest this season. There had been rumblings that Kurt would be romancing new guy Sam (Chord Overstreet), but so far there's no confirmation one way or another.
Then again, Kurt could be playing the field. At this point, we wouldn't put anything past Ryan Murphy, who continues to surprise us ... in a good way of course.
We wonder if Criss would be representing a private school. If so, he'll feel right at home in uniform. He was the star and songwriter for "A Very Potter Musical," which you can watch below:
We're kind of psyched to see Criss in action. So far, the guest stars this season have been stellar, and we're liking his curly, curly hair. He could give Mr. Schue some competition there.

I really really wanted it to be Sam. Would be nice to blow the stereotype out of the water with a popular jock-type guy ending up falling for "Fashion has no gender" Kurt.
Darren actually just cut his hair but I am SOOOOOO EXCITED to see him on Glee. He is amazing. I literally squealed like a 12 year old fangirl when I saw the news break yesterday and I'm 23. I've seen him perform live and the emotion he puts into his singing is beyond compare. Gleeks are in for quite a treat. I wish I were Chris Colfer!

so, wow. I really love Darren because he's talented in every way and i was wishing forever that he would get more famous, and this is the chance. And Glee is like my fav series, so could this get any better? NO. BEST CASTING EVER!
i would prefer sam with kurt, but please, just give him a darn boyfriend!!
