'Glee' Charice first-look picture in McKinley High

glee-charice-500.jpg"Glee" is almost here, so we have an early look at one of the new kids in town, who isn't Chord Overstreet.

Charice, full name Charice Pempengco, is a Filipina singer who enters the hallowed halls of McKinley High on the "Glee" second season premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Spoilers: A few plot points are discussed that aren't anything too surprising, but if you want to go in without knowing anything, skip this.

She plays Sunshine Corazon, a foreign exchange student who's dazzled by what she sees as the exciting and glamorous world of show choir. Her unexpected vocal prowess also scares Rachel (Lea Michele) a little bit.

An early promo shows Sunshine and Rachel singing in the girls' bathroom. In the picture above, she's standing in front of her locker. If you notice, there's a (significantly taller) person behind her, whose identity we won't reveal since that could be a major spoiler if you're really up on your "Glee" news.

But as we mentioned before, she takes on a major "Dreamgirls" song and blows it out of the water in the premiere. Really, we can't emphasize enough what an incredible singer she is. Just watch and listen on Sept. 21.

She I have seen a lot of her videos and while I appreciate her talents her voice really doesn't do much for me. I guess people like different things. But good luck to her.

Thank you for not pitting Charice with the other glee girls like so many web sites want to do.

I am impressed with Charice, Lea and Amber so I hope people just appreciate that and stop the silly polls and what not.

Joan...who cares about you.. why do you have to say that for?...hater... go away spreading negs...

The casting of Charice on Glee is a wise decision of Ryan Murphy. Charice has a global fanbase and will boost the viewership of GLEE.

Ease up Ben, Joan simply said Charice's voice is not her cup of tea. If you read her comment she says that she appreciates Charice's talent and wishes her luck.

I'm so excited for Charice. From all reports her performance of "Listen" during the first episode will win her quite a few fans. Go Charice

The first time I heard Charice she was singing "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going" in StarKing and she was only 15.. I had the same reaction as the Korean judges in that show... and it WOWED me all the more when I learned that at age 7-12 she has joined almost a 100 singing contest in the Philippines in order to help her mom feed themselves and provide for their needs... my goodness, where were we at age 7???

Ben that was hardly a hating comment. I think Charice is good but I doubt I will ever buy her music that doesn't mean I hate her.

Hyper fans only hurt there favorite stars by getting over sensitive about everything.

There is some real hate out there so don't sweat the small stuff.

I know she is only on a for few episodes and has a short arc so I wonder if this leads to any other tv chances or will she stick to singing?

Go Charice. Soar High!

@ Pete. I think Glee and acting is just a bit of fun for Charice. She's definitely going to concentrate on the singing career. I think the reason they decided to go for the Glee role was because of the musical side of the show

Everything's gonna be fine guys - No need to worry who's who or not.Let's enjoy Glee's Music. As far as I know, Charice is well-placed in a recurring role and I know she'll excel because singing covers is her forte. I dare you guys to listen to her "live". You Cube clips do not give justice to her vocal talent.
