'CSI: NY': Melina Kanakaredes or Sela Ward?

Sela Ward ("Once and Again," "Sisters") took over as the lead female investigator on "CSI: NY" Friday (Sept. 24) on CBS. She was cast as a new CSI transplanted from Washington D.C. back in July after Melina Kanakaredes' sudden departure from the show. So what did you think of Ward's debut as Jo Danville? In her first case, she got to the New York lab to discover a girl dead on the floor, stabbed with a pair of scissors. Danville immediately made a splash showing Patrick Jane-like levels of observation. Did you like her?
It'll probably take more episodes to draw a full conclusion, but we think she'll be alright in the role. No one can replace Kanakaredes, but Ward will probably be able to carve out her own niche on the show. Leave your thoughts in the comments.

I miss Stella!
But, Jo was more charming than I'd like to admit. I think they gave her a little too much to do for the first ep, but she was charmingly witty and fun.
But things just won't be the same without my favorite CSI, Stella Bonasera.
Stella is much better. Sad that she is gone. But I think we were so use to her that we have to give this new actress a chance :)

Are all CSI:NY viewers illiterate, or just the ones who post here? "We are all use to" -- is this guy serious? He doesn't know how to spell "used to"? And "good buy"?
You people are a bunch of uneducated IDIOTS.
I think Sela Ward is gorgeous, as well as a fine actress--she will be PERFECT for the show!! Remember, Kankaredes' end was the result of a money dispute! Keep on sky-rocketing the costs of these episodes, and we won't be seeing ANYONE in the CSI crime lab--instead, another (ugh) reality show--they're cheap!!
Give Sela a chance for crying out loud. You call yourselves fans? A fan would stick with the show, rather than bash it because a favorite actor/character left the series. If you want to blame someone, blame the actress. I like Sela. I think she brings a dynamic to the series. She's (at least I think so) a single mom. That brings an interesting dynamic to a character.

They could not have chosen a better replacement. Sela Ward does not get enough credit for her acting. She is by far one of the best actress.
