'America's Got Talent's' Jackie Evancho: 'I'm a classical crossover singer'

Jackie Evancho is one of the four "America's Got Talent" finalists on Season 5 of the talent competition show. She tells Zap2it about her experience on the show and how she discovered her extraordinary gift."The experience is really exciting," says Jackie. "Prince Poppycock is really funny ... but I guess my favorite [act] would have to be Fighting Gravity."
Comparisons have been made between Evancho and famous soprano Sarah Brightman -- which is more on the nose than people realize because Jackie discovered her talent after seeing "Phantom of the Opera."
"We were watching 'Phantom of the Opera' ... and it was mesmerizing," Jackie says. "After that, I started singing the songs around the house and my mom thought that I was really good."
But don't call her strictly an opera singer -- she was quick to correct us.
"I like to sing other stuff too. I'm not an opera singer, I'm a classical crossover singer. I sound like I have an operatic voice, but it's also a nice pop-like voice," Jackie informs us.
We tried to find out what she's singing for her last performance, but she couldn't spill the beans.
"Well, that's confidential information," she giggles. "But I can tell you the song is really beautiful. It's very peaceful."
And when asked what her favorite place to sing would be, Jackie simply says, "My favorite place would have to be on the stage. Just any stage."
"America's Got Talent" final performances air Tuesday (Sept. 14) at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

I never listened to Opera until I heard a beautiful little angel's voice given to a Phenomonel and amazing little beautiful 10 yr. old girl. Little Jackie brought tears and joy to my eyes, because, so many children have talent yet,the parents and others hurt them or don't want their children. Little Jackie is a "God Send" for all children to be saved. I want to tell the whole world and also proud of her parents and family helping her make her dream come true! I pray by watching her and listening to her voice, the great role -model bringing up their child, may all parents follow the footsteps to let their children follow their dreams. I am looking forward to buying her record and little Jackie is unbelievable and unbeatable. Awesome Jackie, You have my families vote.

Jackie is in a league of her own. We are anxiously awaiting her first CD as well as concert. The only way a Jackie Evancho concert could be in ANY way improved, is to have Sarah Brightman sing a duet with her(however, not required). She is by far the most talented performer in America! We LOVE her. Bless that Angel.

Jackie, My husband and I just love your voice and music. I wish I had a CD to play in my home. Your voice is so relaxing and soothing and it really helps me. You have a wonderful gift from God and are such a blessing to me and my husband. If you ever make a CD for public sales please remember me and let me buy one. I would cherish it with all my heart. I have never heard such a beautiful voice. You really do sing like the angels. One day you will be heard all over the world and never be forgotten.
