TV ratings: 'Big Brother' doubles down to lead Thursday
A double elimination on "Big Brother 12" lifted CBS to a ratings victory Thursday night.
CBS delivered 7.3 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/8 share in households for the night, finishing a healthy distance ahead of second-place ABC (5.6 million, 3.5/6). FOX's 3.5 million viewers and 2.3/4 was good enough for third. NBC (2.9 million, 2.0/4) came in fourth, and The CW trailed with 1.5 million viewers and a 0.9/1.
(Note: A handful of local affiliates aired NFL preseason games in primetime, which may skew the ratings a little.)
CBS also led among adults 18-49, although it managed only a 1.9 in the demographic. ABC took second with a 1.6, followed by FOX at 1.1. Neither NBC (0.9) nor The CW (0.5) could break above 1.0.

This has to be one of the most consistently high rated seasons of Big Brother in a while!
Leslie Moonbats and Jackie Chan got someone named "M EOW M EOW" to be in there shew dis year. But CBS is still fro old people. Haha porr thins lol. Now off to Yoda
****, did you learn to spell from a BB contestant?
Yes BB did well this summer. But other reality shows also improved from past seasons such as: Bachelorette and Wipeout. Would love to see Rookie Blue gain more fans its next run. Getting really sick of all these contests/game shows.
Anon: I couldn't have said it better myself. Its like you took the words right out of my mouth. Rookie Blue was a summer suprise.
but Rookie Blue still can't beat a lame CSI rerun, and note that is RERUN. Vampire Diaries and Moonlight's ratings keep edging upward, with their reruns doing much better than some of CW's first run shows.
AP: Both CBS (55) and ABC (51) had median ages above that range (18-to-49-year-old demographic) last season, according to the report. NBC’s median age was 49 and Fox’s was 44. So it looks like network TV is for old people.
Jason, don't bother wasting your breath or time with that douchebag ****/Donna/Pierre/Britney/Truth. She's an idiot and always will be who never has anything consistent to say on these boards. A moron!
An 8.2/2.7 for Big Brother is not impressive when other reality programs have scored consistently higher all summer. It's definitely improvement but let's not forget it's no where near the numbers it use to bring in on a weekly basis. And for the clueless, Rookie Blue won the rating that matters the most- DEMO! CSI is not only in demo trouble this fall but it is also in total viewer trouble. This summer has seen it shed its most fans of any summer.
