ITA, Mamaduke. My favorites from the beginning were Kent, Robert, and Alex. However, I am really crazy about Kent. Didn't like to see Adechike go; this close to the end, any elimination is usually difficult.
I like Robert a lot, he comes of as
being one of those people who will
always try to make you smile.
But the finale is really between
Lauren and Kent.
I will not be watching the SYTYCD finale. The judges sabotaging AdeChike was the last draw for me.
Never liked Robert. They can keep him.
The judges were harsh on Adechike but that usually results in more people voting for a dancer rather than fewer people voting for them. Since Nigel knows the vote counts each week the top three probably did not come as a surprise.
The judges criticized Evan week after week after week a couple of years ago and he did end up in the final three. Was he the best dancer? No. Was he popular? Yes. You could tell it drove Nigel crazy. If Adechike had the support, no criticism would have prevented him from being in the final three. His dancing was good but he needs more training. He wouldn't even have been in the final four except for the injuries because we all know Alex would have been up there. We should be happy we got to see Adechike dance as long as we did.
I'm not disappointed that Ade left, but only because I began to imagine the vitriol that Mia in particular and others would heap on him for daring to be in the final three this season over those who are in the finals.
As much as I loved his dancing (he was my second favorite behind Alex), I'm glad America made the right choice and took him out of the competition because I couldn't STAND Mia's ugliness to him. Her critiques were not critiques to him IMHO and when she was called out on her comment about wishing Alex was there for the Bollywood number (week he left) and how she didn't care for Ade's spin on it (never mind they gushed about Jose's take on the dance), her "apology" wasn't really one.
BTW - I love how Mia harped on him, but America loved him enough he was NEVER in the bottom three until he was eliminated. All the others had been in the bottom three at least once.
As far as the final three, I'm not disappointed based on what came to be. Had Alex not been hurt, it'd been him with Kent and Lauren, and probably an Alex/Kent finale. All of them are worthy and I hope that for their sake, that they don't hear any more of Mia's harping on now past contestants dancing.
