'Supernatural' premiere sneak peek: Winchester family reunion
Has anyone on "Supernatural" actually died and stayed dead? Spoiler alert: Sam (Jared Padalecki) isn't dead. Spoiler alert part two: Neither is their grandfather, Samuel Campbell (Mitch Pileggi) -- or so it seems. When Zap2it spoke with executive producer Sera Gamble at the Television Critics Association press tour in July, she told us that the Campbell side of Sam and Dean's family would play a huge role this season.
"Mitch Pileggi is coming back, so we're going to explore the family tree," Gamble says, though she wouldn't reveal whether he's back from the dead, a flashback, a spirit, or whether the Winchesters are taking another trip back in time. "Sam and Dean have a cousin they've never met, so they're going to realize that they're part of a history, part of a larger family. It's not just the two of them in the bloodline."
In the first images released from the Sept. 24 premiere, Sam and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are reunited with their long-dead grandfather, who was killed by Azazel, the Yellow-Eyed Demon, in the 1970s. Though Dean has interacted with Campbell before, Sam never met the man he was named after.
Grandpa Campbell never found out that time-traveling Dean was actually his grandson, but judging by the photos of them embracing, it looks like he'll be filled in on the details in the season premiere.
Is it just us, or does Dean look a little bit more respectable than usual? Domestic life seems to have cleaned him up a bit. His shirt's tucked in; his leather jacket is M.I.A. Sam, on the other hand, looks the same as he always does -- which is a relief, considering he's been hunting on his own for a year. No visible scars!

this is so awesome. I can't wait. I miss the Winchesters
Dean looks a little like he's Michael Corleone being hand-delivered to the Don and La Familia. Keep an eye out for horse heads, Dean! LOL!
Seriously, that's a good-looking bunch of men, there.
The only person who seems to have died 'for reals' on this show is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, as John Winchester. Which is a damn shame, because he didn't get nearly enough screen time before he bit the big one.
Everytime I hear something about S6 of Supernatural, all I feel is dread. I hate Dean's storyline. I hate that they have turned Dean into a soapy whimp. I hate that the boys are estranged. I hate CW boy/girl love stories with a kid thrown in. Where is the SPN that I have been devoted to all these years? I'm going to DVR 5 episodes to give Sera a chance...but it is not looking good.
