'Real Housewives of New Jersey' finale: Who's the villain, again?

Oh, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," how we will miss the crazy you bring every week. There was certainly enough to go around. But in Season 1, it was always clear who the bad guy was. Danielle Staub, of course.
In the Season 2 finale, it was also pretty clear. Mama Manzo versus Danielle in the cage match of the season. Two women with lots of reason to feel bitter toward each other. After all, Caroline Manzo may or may not have been the person who spread the news of Danielle's crooked past around town in the first place. And Danielle has made life horrific for Caroline's family and friends and, well, you know: If you mess with Caroline's family - you can finish that sentence in your sleep.
We definitely thought Caroline came out of that confrontation the winner. Most of the time, she dealt with a blank-faced Danielle. The housewife didn't seem quite prepared to match wits with Caroline, right? Danielle ended up leaving after Caroline called her garbage again. We're sure she has heard worse. Just sayin'.
This season, though, things got a bit murky as to who was the "bad guy." And that's OK to an extent. After all, in life we're not always good or bad, either. In TV, though, it can get confusing.
Sure, we know Danielle is still the one to keep an eye on. But, then you had Kim Granatell and her apparent muckraking. Not to mention, we had Jacqueline Laurita's bratty daughter, Ashley, who made it very hard for her mother to act morally superior to Danielle. And we had Teresa Giudice's reversal of fortune, which made it difficult for viewers to trust her, since the proof of her financial distress contradicted almost everything she said and the way she acted. And then there's Dina Manzo, who may have made the right choice for herself by leaving, but didn't she kind of leave the rest of the family to clean up the mess?
What'd you think about the Caroline vs. Danielle match? Have your opinions changed this season regarding the other members of the cast? Sound off below!

I watched this show twice tonight and all I can say is it was sad.
There is no side to pick even though you really want to.
All I can take away from the NJ Families is I have very strong doubt that my life would be better if any of them (meaning each and every person shown) was in my life.
Its just sad
and its reality

All I can take away from the NJ Families is not one person whether a wife husband son daughter whoever... not one person would make my life any better in any way...
Its just sad
and its reality
these people or ones very similar to them are our neighbors
I don't think Caroline came out the winner. She totally failed in her mission which was to get Danielle to drop the charges against Ashley, and when she realized she was not going to get her way she resorted to hurling insults and calling Danielle names - like a twelve year old.
At least Danielle has an excuse for her behavior -she's got severe psychological problems, if not a personality disorder.
Why does this woman have custody of those darling kids. She is obviously not fit to raise a rat.
Danielle,
Give the kids to their father.
I think that danielle shou
I think Danielle should stay on the show. why should she leave she didn't pull anybody's hair. plus instead of caroline meeting her the parents should have brought the daughter to say she was sorry and I'm sure danielle
would have been kind and forgiven her.
I watched the season finale somewhat reluctantly, as I have tired with the show after it has drawn out this whole silly "Danielle vs. the world" storyline.
The problem with season 2 is that, although we all know "reality tv" is scripted, this show has jumped the shark with its terribly obvious manipulations by the producers to create heavy drama out of nothing. The truth is that the other women have NO reason to associate with Danielle or to even talk about her, and Danielle has NO reason to see or even think about any of the other women. But, the producers keep coming up with preposterous situations to have Danielle and the other women interact, and they obviously encourage the other women (and the men) to constantly bring up Danielle in conversations even when it is completely illogical to even mention her name.
As for Danielle, we all know she is a lunatic. Her paranoia about her safety would be hilarious if it were not so pathetic. She has deluded herself into thinking she is starring in a C-grade mafia thriller where the "bad guys" have "put a hit" on her. And, her hypocrisy is a bit much with her constant speeches about how she wants to "reclaim her dignity" while she continues to act like a narcissistic, desperate and vulgar fool.
I am not sure what was the point of Caroline meeting with Danielle, aside from creating fake drama. But, I think Caroline came out the better of the face-to-face. She may have not have convinced Danielle to drop the charges against Ashley, but she did put Danielle firmly in her place and call her a clown, which is what Danielle is. Also, Ashley's most serious charge was dismissed, and she only ended up paying a very small fine for simple battery, which she planned to plead guilty to from the beginning. So, in the end, Ashley faced up to responsibility but didn't have any serious consequences. Caroline moved on with her life and enjoyed her loving husband and kids, and beautiful home. Meanwhile, Danielle just further convinced the world that she is an utter loon, and went on to have another sex tape scandal--and got herself fired from the show.
Now, that all this phony-baloney drama is over. I hope everyone moves on with their lives, and Bravo puts something better on tv.
there is no show without danielle, No matter what any one says, Danielle did nothing last nite and the last two episodes. I just dont see danielle as the bad one here
Well, between the awful women on Housewives and the scum on Jersey Shore I think we're getting a pretty clear picture of life in NJ, huh? What a bunch of gutter rats all of 'em are. Guidos and Guidettes struttin around like some sort of Carmela and Tony wannabes. Pee-yuke.
As soon as Caroline realized what she was dealing with, and the key words here are "vacant and soulless", she knew that Danielle would never stop her campaign to make them "all pay" for her delusional slights! That's what makes Danielle clown/garbage. This may have been pushed and scripted by Bravo to make drama out of nothing but it worked and people are talking. As Caroline so eloquently put it "everyone is trying to be the winner in a no win situation". The same goes for the show. No one will miss Danielle if she leaves.
