'Party Down' crew gets 'Temps' job, more multiples at TLC

party-down-canceled-320.jpgIt's important to eat a good breakfast every day. Or, you could fill up on some snack-sized pieces of TV news.

"Party Down" lives! OK, that's overstating things -- but the late Starz series' creators (Rob Thomas, John Enbom and Dan Etheridge) have sold a pilot to NBC that sounds like it could have a similar spirit: It's called "Temps," and it's about people working various temp jobs to make ends meet. [Variety]

TLC might as well stand for The Lots-of-Kids Channel: It's ordered a new show called "Sextuplets Take New York," about the Carpio family of Queens, their six toddlers and their 9-year-old son. [TLC]

"Survivor" host Jeff Probst, who won his third straight Emmy for best reality host last weekend, will be a presenter at Sunday's (Aug. 29) Primetime Emmys. Probst and other hosts had grumbled about their category being relegated to the Creative Arts awards, but fences have apparently been mended. [Variety]

Also at the Emmys, fans will be able to follow winners backstage to a "thank-you cam" that will be part of a live video stream on Emmys.com, NBC.com and Ustream.com. [NBC]

The next "Next Iron Chef" competition will kick off Sunday, Oct. 3 on Food Network. The 10 competitors include several up-and-coming chefs as well as past "Iron Chef America" competitor and FN host Ming Tsai. [Food Network]

"Get Him to the Greek" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" director Nicholas Stoller is moving into TV with a script deal for a comedy project at 20th Century Fox. Stoller wrote for Judd Apatow's show "Undeclared" in the early 2000s. [Deadline]

uuugh...why can't party down just be uncanceled

I wish Party Down wasn't cancelled. That was one of the best written and acted shows on TV. Is it too much to hope that whatever stars and writers from that show that haven't moved on could be on this show?

Will temps hire all the same people? Please?
This show should never have been cancelled.
