Miss Universe peek: Swimsuits and body paint
Miss Universe is putting a spin on the tired old swimsuit shoot.
The contenders suited up but also became painted ladies when photographer Fadil Berisha thought to cover them with bright body paint.
Watch as Jos Brands and his team takes brush to flesh to create colorful, sometimes exotic or tropical designs on the women. Oh yes, and there's finger painting too. It's not a bad idea to get into the makeup business, right?
We're intrigued by the ladies who don't have full swimsuits on, like the contestant who has sort of a sari sash painted across her upper torso and her hand.
So far, we're digging these fun behind-the-scenes videos, but really, can't they find better music?
Also, be sure to see videos of the ladies in their crazy national costumes and a nifty "day in the life" stop-motion animation.
Miss Universe 2010 will air live on Monday, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on NBC.

Miss Philippines...... is really the most fabulous..... I believe that she will take the crown.....go gogogo venus raj!!!!!
I read many biographies of the contestants for Miss Universe 2010 and I found out that Miss Philippines named Venus Raj is a true example of a woman today. She plays a major role of our women to fight human rights and injustice. She was dethroned because of unfair judgement however she stood up and fought fo her right. She is also a good example "that poverty is not a hindrance to success". In today's economic problem , Miss Philippines is an example of B's : Brain, Beauty, and Bravery. She is a brave lady- imagine her life for twenty years without electricity and was able to succeed in her study and even got an honor "*** Laude".
I would like to request for the judges to read biographies of all contestants and it should bepart of the criteria for judging.
WE have to consider that Miss Universe who will represents the dignity of the world. The judges consider the values that endure forever.
I as beauty queen would like to recommend Miss Venus Raj -Miss Philippines to be on the circle of three. She is the Miss Universe who is perfect exAmple of Confidence ( to fight her rights and injustices) ,beauty ( winning many previous beauty contests), virtues ( woman to be recognized today)
most comments are correct. Judges should also find time to read the biographies of each contestants. It's not how they walk gracefully on stage, on how can they wear swim suit/gown and show to the people that they have body (oh! as we all know that all of them have great bodies.) For me Ms. Philippines, Venus Raj should be the next Miss Universe..
I'm guessing that Miss Philippines tweeted a link to this Zap2it post.
Venus Raj of the Philippines - stunning beauty and brain a true representative of the women to the world
