Miss Universe peek: A day in the life of a pageant contender

The Miss Universe 2010 contestants invite you into their world.

This cool stop-motion animation video -- made with 7,994 stills -- covers the 17-hour day in the life of the contestants as they prep for their big night.

Exercise is key, as are rehearsals. What we love are all the meals the ladies eat. No starving here.

What we're wondering is why run in the hallway? The Mandalay has to have a kick-ass gym, right? Maybe it's a time-saving issue.

Also, be sure to see videos of the ladies in their swimsuits/body paint and their crazy national costumes.

The Miss Universe 2010 pageant will air live at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Monday, Aug. 23 on NBC.
