'MasterChef': Joe Bastianich not surprised to be tapped

His TV appearances have been limited to "The Today Show" and restaurant partner Mario Batali's various shows, but Joe Bastianich issn't apprehensive about judging FOX's "MasterChef" with Gordon Ramsay and the country's youngest four-star chef, Graham Elliot Bowles."They were looking in the world of food professionals," he tells Zap2it. "They wanted people who were camera-ready and are not chefs. It's a pretty small world."
Bastianich grew up in the restaurant business, then tried Wall Street -- "It was less about wanting to work on Wall Street and more about an acute fear of poverty." -- before he opened his first restaurant with his mom.
"On this [Gordon] was so adamant about keeping it real," Bastianich says of "MasterChef." "I understood that, and about keeping the timing up. It shows in the production."

NOT SO! You have one contestant who is an actor - Faruq Jenkins, also know on his IMDB page as Faruq Tauheed. Another contestant, Jake Gandolfo, has his own catering company and has for years...so much for keeping it real!
Oh em gee jerk is too nice of a word for this guy he is such a douche!!! Talk about a prick!! I like the show but these "real" everday Joes don't need the snippy snide remarks from that Joe! He is overly critical , this is master chef not Top Chef u donkey!
The shows a joke. Its absolutely just tv. All scripted, all rigged, all actors. One big show of pretty faces and who's the most marketable
I haven't consumed alcohol during the past 25 years. When I did it was nothing unusual to visit various bars/pubs and "have a few". During those many days I had occasion to see different people whom I've never met BUT in some cases there have been that "remote occasion" when I would see someone whom I would like to walk up to -- and break a bar stool over their head. Such is the case with this smug looking arrogant "chef" type named Joe Bastianich. He just looks like that "one person that should be knocked out", whether you know that person or not. I would think that he is glad that I've stopped drinking alcoholic beverages.
I don't understand why people have to be so cruel to someone else because they don't like them. I like Joe. Anyways what I'm trying to say is you don't have to like him, just don't be so cruel.
