Jon Hamm returns for '30 Rock' live, 'Saturday Night Live' adds three
The Emmys may be over, but they left plenty of fantastic, newsy scraps behind. Here are a few of the best:
When "30 Rock" airs this season's live episode, recurring guest Jon Hamm ("Mad Men") will be there for the ride. And given his expert dancing on the Emmys and his two-time success hosting "Saturday Night Live," we think he'll do just fine. [EW]
Hamm's young "Mad Men" co-star Kiernan Shipka got a lot of laughs in the Emmy press room, telling reporters about how well the cast parties. [Gawker]
The now Will Forte-less "Saturday Night Live" will likely be adding three new players this fall. According to reports, comedians Taran Killam (a "Scrubs" vet and baby dad to "HIMYM" star Cobie Smulders), Paul Brittain and Vanessa Bayer. [NYP]
Among the several TV icons left out of this year's Emmy "in memoriam?" "The Wire" and "Treme" scribe David Mills. The veteran producer and writer, who died of a brain aneurysm early in 2010, was no where to be found. [Movieline]
Joey Lawrence has a few things to say on his new series "Melissa and Joey," including comparing himself to Bruce Willis circa "Moonlighting." [Examiner]
