'Glee' Macy's fashion launch brings Gleek love

Gleeks can show their true colors at Macy's thanks to the new "Glee"-themed clothing line.

In honor of the apparel's launch, cast members Heather Morris, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz breeze into the Macy's at the Beverly Center Mall in Beverly Hills on Saturday (Aug. 21) to greet fans and sign autographs.

Zap2it arrives just ahead of them, but in time to see the crowd get a little rowdy, but it's all in good fun. Half of the Gleeks are in line with bags full of purchased "Glee" clothing already, waiting for their chance to meet Brittany, Artie and Tina. The others are cordoned off to the side, wielding cameras and camera phones to snap pics of their favorite stars.

A DJ blasts the "Glee" soundtrack while the fans wait, singing along in a communal karoke. Since this is Beverly Hills, a mild-mannered pup or two sits patiently in its owner's arms, not really caring who's going to show up on stage. This gives us a chance to see some of the apparel. There are more than 30 different pieces in the "Glee" collection, but here's a sampling:

Finally ... they arrive.



We all jostle each other to simultaneously snap pictures, record video and Tweet. After a table is pulled on stage, the actors sit and are ready to greet their fans.



We don't know if this is the case with every "Glee" event or just the ones with McHale present, but two of the fans are in wheelchairs. The first girl is Kimmie, who loves McHale's character Artie. Kimmie, on behalf of her sister J.J. Cannon, hands Morris (aka HeMo) a teddy bear dressed as a Cheerio. Morris also happens to be wearing a gold anchor necklace that Cannon had given her.

The whole time, parents at the signing try to take pictures of their kids with the stars in the background, but have varying levels of success.

Finally, the last fan has trickled through, and then the actors pose for one more photo op with the Macy's team.

It's actually a fairly brief, but loud and suprisingly un-chaotic event. Good job, Gleeks. We leave you with one last look at the clothes, this time modeled by a fan (left) and an actual paid model (right).
