'Glee' gets comic book treatment, Masi Oka lands post-'Heroes' gig
If cartoon Schue and Sue haven't already ruined your appetite, here's a handful of noteworthy TV news bits:
Comic book scribes Bluewater Productions announced a "Glee" one-shot, detailing the cast's rise to fame since the 2009 premiere. If we had a dollar for every time this show was optioned for another marketing gimmick, we'd be as rich as... Ryan Murphy. [THR]
"Heroes" star Masi Oka is headed to CBS's "Hawaii Five-0" reboot. He makes his debut in episode 4 as the potentially recurring coroner. [TV Guide]
British spy drama "Spooks" (aka "MI-5"), is getting the American treatment. ABC bought the rights to a U.S. adaptation and tapped Michael Seitzman ("North Country") to write and executive produce. [Deadline]
Sorry, Snooks. "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has been denied her application to trademark her nickname. Apparently a 2004 children's book about the adventures of a cat that falls off of a boat, "The Adventures of Snooky," already owns the rights. [Smoking Gun]
