'General Hospital': Sneak a peek at Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo's return

Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo's much-anticipated "General Hospital" return airs Wednesday (Aug. 11) -- but if you can't wait, we've got a couple of sneak peeks for you right now.The recently married Giovinazzo is returning to the ABC soap for the first time in seven years -- and as the network has been breathlessly hyping, her character, Brenda Barrett, is bringing a secret with her to Port Charles. Said secret will be revealed over time -- we're loving the fan theories that she's somehow connected to James Franco's Franco, by the way -- but unfortunately the pair of clips below don't help much.
In the first, she talks with Brad Rowe's character, Murphy Sinclair. He's a movie star who's interested in both Brenda and a children's charity in Italy. Which means that Rowe's character may somehow be connected to Suzanne Stanwyck (Adrienne Barbeau), whom we'll also meet this week. She's a crusader for kids' causes too.
What's that all mean for "GH" and the men Brenda left behind when she departed in 2003? We're not sure. What do you think Brenda will be up to when she returns? Take a look a the clips and sound off in the comments.

Big deal. She'll just bolt again as soon as she gets another pilot or movie role. ABC left with egg on it's face again.

I read she signed a 1 year contract I think, so she'll be on at least for a year. But I agree with Kerry, she'll just bolt again at the next sign of "something better". However wouldn't we all do the same if a hit prime-time show or movies is where we really wanted to be?
Actors & actresses are just like the rest of us, looking for the best job to earn money with. Some are happy sticking with daytime soaps, others aren't. It's just a job and a paycheck like our jobs are for us. Would you really stay at your job just because lots of customers love you at a certain one or would you move to where you want to be?
I don't get what the big fuss about Brenda is.
Did I like her years ago when she was on the show? Yes. But I'd much rather have Laura Spencer back and given something of substance to do on the show (not just be a mom and react to what's going on in Luke & Lucky's lives). Having her back for a year or two would excite me much more.
So excited Brenda's back! Too bad the rest of the show sucks, though and has sucked for 7 years. I'll be tuning in for Brenda's stories and tuning out as soon as she leaves!!
The only thing that would have gotten me to watch GH again after almost 2 years is Brenda & Sonny but Guza has made GH so unrecognizable to the show I watched for 40 years that nope not going back.

I still watch, but you are right! The show is unrecognizable! Can't even be excited for Sonny and Brenda because Guza will probably add some disgusting twist to the storyline like he has done with every other sicko character on there! At first I was like, yay Brenda's back! But then I thought ... it won't be long before Guza has her locked in an insane asylum, falling down a flight of stairs while pregnant, murdered, or worse ... :( I miss the old days of GH!
