'Expendables' keeps box office title Friday
"The Expendables" is still seeing action its second week out despite five new contenders for the box office.The Sylvester Stallone film racked up an estimated $5 million Friday (Aug. 20), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Will this be enough for it to top the box office for the second week in a row? That remains to be seen.
Newbie spoof "Vampires Suck" wasn't too far behind with $4.4 million Friday.
The full box office Top 10 for Friday:
1. "The Expendables" - $5 million
2. "Vampires Suck" - $4.4 million
3. "Lottery Ticket" - $3.9 million
4. "Piranha 3D," "Eat Pray Love" - $3.6 million apiece*
*Note: What a double feature this would be: "Eat Prey, Love."
6. "The Other Guys" - $2.9 million
7. "The Switch" - $2.8 million
8. "Nanny McPhee Returns" - $2.7 million
9. "Inception" $2.4 million
10. "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" - $1.6 million
