'Drop Dead Diva' finale: Brooke Elliott says she's Team Grayson, but...

In this season of "Drop Dead Diva," we've seen a stronger push in Jane's story arc that's forcing her to accept her new life and leave Deb behind. Yet, no matter how much Fred (played by Ben Feldman) urges her to accept Jane's life, there are elements that keep plunging her back into Deb's.
"She really is fighting between the past and accepting the present and moving forward to a future that she hadn't imagined," Brooke Elliott, who plays Jane, tells Zap2it. "And most of time when Jane's in scenes with Grayson, she just can't let go of it because it's what she really wants."
It isn't just what Jane wants. Elliott tells us that's what she wants, as well.
"I want her to end up with Grayson, so I'm really wanting that to happen," she says. "But there are a lot of steps in between that both of them have to go through before that can happen, but I see them together."

She continues, "But with Grayson knowing that he has fallen in love with her as Jane not as Jane with Deb inside of her. He's got to fall in love with her for who she is now, is what I want."
In the two-hour season finale, Jane decides it's time to tell Grayson (Jackson Hurst) the truth about who she is. Paula Abdul guest stars, not as a judge, but as Jane's wedding planner. And Elliott hints that we may lose someone by the end of the episode, but she isn't telling.
"I can't give away anything," she tells us of the finale. "But, the very end of the finale I really love, I think it's really fun."
The Season 2 finale airs Sunday, August 29 at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.

I absolutely love this show. The writing is rarely great. The plot is often a bit too contrived. I just think that Brooke is fabulous, adorable and her character is one of the few on tv that I'd love to know in real life.
Stacy is lovely as well. I've never been a fan of the ditzy blonde supermodel, but she's played with such heart.
I LOVED the finale. Can't wait for season 3 to start. Hats off to the writers. I want her with Grayson so much though!!
i am annoyed because i really want jane and grayson to be together!! why cant she just tell him she is deb?? I am not watching season 3 if jane and grayson dont end up together!!
I love this show too. And I want Jane and Grayson together as much as everyone else. But let's face it, if they get together, then there goes all the suspense/tension of the show. So I'm sure the writers are going to keep stringing us along, teasing us - which is what writers are supposed to do.
I love this show! I don't watch television but this is an exception! I can't wait for season 3! Make it a great one!
Jane has to end up with Grayson!!!I don't mind them stringing us along a little, after all - that means the show is still going strong. But there is plenty of drama in getting them together that the writers could explore. Jane and Grayson forever. It can't end (happily) any other way for me. The finale was great - can't wait for season 3.
Did anyone else watch the same season finale I watched? Grayson looked pretty dead to me. How was that an awesome finale? He said "Deb". There was blood pouring from his head. This is not good. Not good at all
I agree, Ashley, he looked dead to me too. I don't know if him saying "Deb?" was a clue that he is going to make it or what?!!!!! But I'm desperate to know!
Great season finale...love this show! Can't wait for the next season to begin. This ep was so much better than the boring Emmy Awards!
Congratulations to the entire staff of DDD. The finale was terrific and it further enhanced your show's superlative as the "most romantic on television".
I'm a straight, beyond middle aged male and I'm kind of embarrased to admit that I've never watched a single episode over these two years without at least a tear or two.
