'Dexter': Chris Vance joins Season 5

Chris Vance, who had starred in FOX's short-lived "Mental," has joined the fifth season of "Dexter," Showtime reps confirm to Zap2it. The news was first reported by EW.

Warning: Spoilers may lurk below if you haven't watched Season 4 yet.

Vance, also of "Prison Break" and "Burn Notice," joins the already packed season of guest stars that includes Julia Stiles, Peter Weller, Shawn Hatosy, Jonny Lee Miller and Katherine Moening.

Could any of these be a rival for Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in the killing department? It's actually possible that more than one may be joining in the killing games. In a Comic-Con interview, writer-executive producer Chip Johannesson had said, "We wanted to get away from the single serial killer," although the show won't devolve into a "killer of the week" format.

That still leaves the door open, however, for multiple killers.

Vance's character is described as "meticulous, physically fit, well-spoken." That sounds like a classic killer profile to us. He always seemed so nice.

Oh, and if you haven't seen it already, be sure to watch the most recent "Dexter" teaser promo. It's good stuff.

What do you think? Could multiple killers top Trinity? Do you still miss Rita?
