'Dancing with the Stars': The Situation reportedly signs on for Season 11

It looks like "Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino may have finally decided on which show he'd most like to moonlight.

OK reports that the six-packed one is a go for Season 11 of "Dancing with the Stars" -- almost a month after his name first appeared among the rumored cast.

"DWTS" pro Derek Hough weighed in on the likelihood of Sorrentino's involvement. "It's people like that who come on the show who people will tune in and watch because either it will be a travesty or it will be interesting to see somebody turn something completely around," Hough tells OK. "I'm up for anybody."

When asked about the situation with The Situation, an ABC rep tells Zap2it: "We don't comment on casting rumors. We will announce the cast Monday, August 30, live, during ABC's 'Bachelor Pad.'"

So there's still another week before anything official, but you can add The Situation to the growing list of rumored cast which already includes Audrina Patridge ("The Hills,"), Brandy and former football player Kurt Warner.

Anyone know the age demographic for DWTS? I would venture it skews much older than this guy. Do they really think younger viewers will tune in because he's on there? Big mistake!

I thought the shows title actually included the word "STARS"...not reality show contestant. I REFUSE to acknowledge Mr. Situation or Kate G as 'stars'. Nope, can't do it...and you can't make me....

OMG! Hottie Alert! YES! He's exactly what DWTS needs. Now if they can get Roberto Martinez and Ali Fedotowsky from The Bachelorette they'll be locked and loaded for the highest rated season ever, especially demo wise.

None of those rumored contestants seem the least bit interesting. But that Jersey shore bore is a deal breaker. I fast-forwarded every time Kate Gosselin danced (believe me, it improved it) but I won't bother to do it again.
