Chelsea Handler hosting 2010 MTV Video Music Awards

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards have been releasing the names of performers for the show -- Justin Bieber, B.o.B., Kanye West -- but now they have a host. "Chelsea Lately" host, author and comedienne Chelsea Handler.Handler made the announcement on her talkshow Wednesday (Aug. 18). "The MTV Video Music Awards will be on Sunday, Sept. 12 and everybody knows when you think of rap music and hip-hop, you think of 'Chelsea Lately.' And that's why I'll be hosting them," Handler jokes.
She also gets 10 free tickets, so she says to her staff, "Let the a**-kissing begin!"
The night should be a fun one and the scandal factor just kicked up a notch. Lady Gaga leads all nominees with 13 nominations -- the most for any solo artist in one year in VMA history. What do you think of the choice for host?

Chelsea hosting may be the only reason I watch these awards.... most of these categories are ridiculous, I only listen to rock and indie music. Chelsea is hysterical.
