Box Office: 'The Other Guys' takes top spot, 'Inception' still a box office dream
Though "The Other Guys" isn't approaching "Talledega Nights" numbers, its estimated $35.6 million opening puts it solidly in the territory of Will Ferrell's previous work like "Stepbrothers," "Blades of Glory," and "Anchorman." While reviews have been mixed, it looks to be another box office slam dunk for Ferrell - not to mention Mark Wahlberg, playing decidedly against type."Inception" continues to rake in big numbers, down only 32% from last week with another $18.6 million -- impressive, considering the fact that anyone who doesn't live under a rock knows the twist by now. It beat out "Step Up 3-D," which opened to an estimated $15.5 million, riding America's dance craze and taking advantage of the buzz generated by "So You Think You Can Dance's" finale week.
The Top 5 was rounded out by Angelina Jolie's "Salt," and "Dinner for Schmucks," which suffered a significant blow from last week, likely because movie goers seeking bro-comedy headed to "The Other Guys" instead.
The complete Top 12 is below, with weekend totals followed by overall totals.

Tired of Ferrell being involved in nothing but movies with ensemble casts who carry him and he gets credit for single-handedly making it a hit.
So what you're saying is that if this movie just had Mark Wahlberg with a boring partner this movie would be the same if not better? I think he adds to the movies he's in. If he wasn't in Blades of Glory, it would just be Jon Heder...boring. Same goes with many more. The only movie that the supporting cast really carried it was Old School. And even then he was the most entertaining character. You don't like Will Ferrell and no one cares buddy.
Like that you put in the receipts how much they made this week followed by how much total. Please keep doing so.

You shut your stupid face, Eric! I LIKE Will Ferrell!
*sheesh!*
I agree with Eric. Will Ferrell isn't funny in anything other than 3 minute SNL sketches. He's seriously overrated.
He is hit or miss with me. The last couple of movies he has done were just plain junk. This one was pretty good though.
