Box Office: 'The Last Exorcism' takes 'Takers' Friday
Despite its crazy ending, "The Last Exorcism" took the Friday box office title with an estimated $9.4 million in earnings. The Hayden Christensen-Chris Brown vehicle "Takers" came in second with a $7.5 million opening day at the box office. "The Expendables," which has won the box office title the last two weekends, finished third with $2.7 million, putting it over $75 million total.
Rounding out the top five was "Eat Pray Love" at $2.2 million and "The Other Guys" at $1.9 million. "Avatar" came back into theaters and took in just over $1.2 million, putting its domestic total at $751+ million.
Rounding out the top 10 were "Vampires Suck" ($1.7M), "Inception" ($1.4M), "The Switch" ($1.3M), "Nanny McPhee 2" ($1.3M) and "Avatar" at ($1.2M).

Good to know "the last exorcism" is doing so good despite poor critics review. Transformers kind of proved that it is not that critics and viewers feel the same way about movies.
reviewers generally look for a different type of movie. i am not looking for an oscar nominated movie in every movie I see. glad to see this did well
