'American Idol's' Kara DioGuardi hasn't heard from producers, wants another year

GoogleJoseph DioGuardi, a former U.S. Representative from New York who is currently seeing the New York U.S. Senate seat and who is also father to "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi, was on "Capital Tonight" when he was, of course, asked about his daughter's possible firing from the show. DioGuardi says of his daughter:
"Would you believe that she did not hear and still has not heard anything. She read it the way you did and I did. In fact, her disappointment is that that's the way she's being treated ... I think what they're trying to do is create a lot of buzz, like they did with Paula Abdul. They're trying to reformat the thing. But Kara has a very deep career in music ... so she'll be fine. Does she want to do it another year? I think so ... I think she will at some point confront them on that."
He goes on to joke that because of Kara's fame, "people now know how to pronounce [his] name and spell it."

Kara ruined American Idol from the first day she came on board...
She ruined the chemistry at the judges table during the first year and became seriously pompous last year, constantly agreeing with herself and nodding her head.
Bringing back Paula would go a long way to remind viewers of when the show was fun to watch.
Good riddance Kara... You WILL NOT be missed !!!
Kara ABSOLUTELY deserves better treatment. She's such a kind person, and she was the most knowledgable judge on the panel. The woman is big in the music industry, and you can tell how passionate she was about her job. She listened intently to every performance and took her job seriously. People like to pitt her against Paula, but I think it's okay to like both judges. Kara didn't replace Paula. Fox replaced Paula. If not Kara, I'd love to see Paula return.
But J-Lo? J-Lo is an embarrasing replacement for a truly classy, knowledgable woman like Kara. Kara's the one producing records and writing hit songs. She know how the industry works from the inside. J-Lo doesn't even come close. Shame on Nigel Lythgoe.
OBVI, that's just plain wrong. Kara and Simon had chemistry and were the ones keeping the show interesting. People can call her "pompous," (which is just ridiculous) but Kara knows what she is talking about and cares about who she's talking to. She had an opinion just like Simon did. Get over it. She's incredibly genuine and talented.
Kara certainly deserves better. I think anyone who treats people the way she has been treated should be out of a job!!
i got annoyed watching her compete for attention with the contestants. Kara came across as unlikable and desperate for fame. I think she lost me and many other viewers with the whole bikini girl fiasco. Attempting to sing over her then the false modesty after flashing her nearly naked body for 25 million viewers in the season finale.
I really didn't like Kara on Idol but they (Idol producers) should at least give her a heads up about what's going on.
The show sucked with her on it. Frankly the entire show has gone to crap the last few seasons.
They should focus on finding 12 good singers that people actually want to hear every week. Then the judges wouldn't matter.
personally, I preferred Kara to Paula, mostly because Kara seems to have a better handle on what the contestants need in order to be successful in the business. But regardless of preference, Fox has handled the issue of her job status very poorly. Nigel talking about wanting Paula back even though it's 100% impossible is a passive-agressive slap in the face to Kara. She deserves a straight answer. Heck, so does Randy.
After the way they treated Paula, you certainly can't imagine they would do any better with Kara? This whole Idol Machine is totally broke--don't know if it can be fixed.
