'American Idol': Kristy Lee Cook goes hunting
Former "American Idol" finalist Kristy Lee Cook is back on TV -- and she's packing heat.Cook, who finished seventh on Season 7 of "Idol" in 2008, is starring in a new series about her life, her music and big-game hunting called "Goin' Country with Kristy Lee Cook." It's airing on cable channel Versus, home to National Hockey League regular-season games, the Tour de France and lots of outdoor shows.
Cook is also trying to bag a new record deal along with whitetail deer and pheasant. The show features her going out in search of hunting trophies with the likes of fellow "Idol" finalist Blake Lewis and singer Aaron Tippin, as well as giving a glimpse into her own life and music she's currently working on. Cook and her label, Arista Nashville, parted ways after she released her first album, "Why Wait," in late 2008; she's currently looking for a new label.
"Goin' Country" debuted Sunday (Aug. 1) on Versus.

casy james and kathy lee cook would be a gorgous couple!!!!!
Such a pretty face - very serious choice of karmic action. Interesting how samsara works.
Kristy can say it is about giving the food to orphanages, but it is her excitement about killing the animal that sickens me. Each life should be mourned. This animal died and left its family and she is celebrating its death. It is the attitude about it that angers me. I didn't like her on the show and like her even less now. I consider myself a country girl and I could never celebrate the death of any animal.
