TV Ratings: CBS wins viewers, three-way split in 18-49 demo

CBS scored the highest number of viewers overall, but there was a three-way split for first in the 18-49 demographic, thanks to new episodes of "Wipeout," "Big Brother 12" and "So You Think You Can Dance." 

CBS averaged 6.9 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/8 share in households. ABC came next with 6.3 million and 3.9/7. FOX was third with 4.9 million, 3.2/6, NBC was fourth with 3.4 million, 2.3/4 and the CW was last with 1.4 million, 0.9/2.

In the 18-49 demo, ABC, CBS and FOX tied with a 1.7 rating. NBC and the CW lagged behind with a 1.1 and a 0.6, respectively.

Thursday hour by hour:

8 p.m.

ABC: "Wipeout" (7.9 million viewers, 4.5/9 households)
CBS: "Big Brother 12" (6.7 million, 4.1/8)
FOX: "Glee" rerun (3.9 million, 2.7/5)
NBC: "Community" rerun (3.0 million, 2.1/4), "30 Rock" rerun (2.9 million, 2.0/4)
The CW: "The Vampire Diaries" rerun (1.5 million, 1.0/2)

18-49 leader:
"Wipeout" (2.6)

9 p.m.


CBS: "CSI" rerun (6.57 million, 4.4/8)
ABC: "Rookie Blue" (6.54 million, 4.1/8)
FOX: "So You Think You Can Dance" (5.8 million, 3.7/6)
NBC: "The Office" rerun (3.5 million, 2.3/4), "Parks and Recreation" rerun (2.7 million, 1.8/3)
The CW: "Moonlight" rerun (1.2 million, 0.9/2)

18-49 leader: "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.0)

10 p.m.

CBS: "The Mentalist" rerun (7.3 million, 4.9/9)
ABC: "Boston Med" (4.6 million, 3.2/6)
NBC: "Law & Order: SVU" rerun (4.1 million, 2.8/5)

Wipeout is a beast! We can't be stopped!

Where's Rena Moreidiot? She always has something b!tchy to say about ABC. Well, OK, she has something b!tchy to say about EVERYTHING. She hates TV and everything about it.

Kinda makes you wonder why she watches it at all...

Its obvious that ABC's Wipeout and Bachleorete are among the highest rated reality programs this summer. However many overlook that Rooie Blue is one of the most popular new scripted series. CBS even canceled The Bridge, another less popular cop show.
