'True Blood's baby vamp is Charlaine Harris' favorite departure

deborah-ann-woll-true-blood-s3-poster-320.jpg"True Blood" veered off from the path of the Sookie Stackhouse novels in the first episode, but that doesn't mean fans of the books can't enjoy the show.

Author Charlaine Harris still considers herself a book geek, but she tunes into "True Blood" regularly and admits she loves some of creator Alan Ball's departures from her novels.

In particular, Harris mentions during her Comic-Con panel Thursday, July 22 that Deborah Ann Woll is her favorite part of the series that was different from the books.

We'd have to agree.  Zap2it catches up with Harris later and to get more details. Also, be sure to see the author answer 5 Comic-Con Quickies.

I love baby Jessica too!!
No one, not even Buffy or Angel ever
dealt with what happens when a
young teen is turned, how do they
know what to do? Its not all
instinct. And ALCIDE WOW!! I love
him more and more every scene he is
in.

Yes, The character of Jessica is perfect. A blend of teen angst and coming into her own with a little comedy on the side. This is one of my favorite characters!

mammaduke-- you realize none of this is real, right? If the writer says it's all instinct, then it is. If the writer says it's not, it's not. Because it's make-believe.

uh mammaduke- it's fiction honey...

She is probably my favorite too. Always hilarious moments, not really trying to be. Lafayette is up there too.

Tara needs to die. Although I actually liked her in this weeks episode, when she went a lil crazy.

I want Jason, Alcide, and Eric to come visit me

My fave departure is Lafayette not dying.
