Zap2it On the Scene: Comic-Con 2010

'The Vampire Diaries': Live blog from Comic-Con, bite by bite

vampire-diaries-finale-stefan-damon-thumb copy.jpgIt's no secret that we love "The Vampire Diaries" here at Zap2it, so we're practically buzzing with anticipation as we wait for the panel to start at Comic-Con.

Creators Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec are joined by series stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Michael Trevino, Matthew Davis, and Steven R. McQueen.

4:31 p.m. - The highlight reel -- which we're calling a "sizzle" reel -- is a great reminder of how far we've come! Lots of cheers for Ian Somerhalder and David Anders in particular. My ear drums burst during the Damon/Katherine kiss.

4:36 p.m. - Marcos Siega, who has directed countless episodes in the first season, is moderating. And Matt Davis is wearing purple pants.

4:44 p.m. - It'll be very interesting to see Stefan and Katherine come face to face. "Katherine's a pimp," Nina says. She likes the chance to step into the Katherine shoes. Somerhalder says, "Katherine's so much cooler."

4:46 p.m. - Paul asks if Stefan will become Damon-esque, and Ian says, "Yeah, right."

4:47 p.m. - "The nice Damon freaks me out. We went through that scene together with the kiss on the porch and I was miserable. I didn't know what to do," Ian says. He likes crazy Damon. "Dancing around with Kayla Ewell in her underwear."

4:48 p.m. - Julie: "Paul Wesley's hair has its own number on the call sheet." Paul: "It's 2A." Nina: "Actually, it's 2. You're 2A."

4:48 p.m. - Question for Trevino: Matt's sister or Matt's mom? "Why not both?"

4:49 p.m. - Question for Steven R. McQueen, Bonnie or Caroline? "Probably Caroline." Everyone says awwww. "Next question!"

4:50 p.m. - Nina's going to have to let everyone wonder about who's the better kisser, Paul or Ian. She wrote on their hands today -- Paul's say "Team Elena" and Ian's say "Team Katherine."

4:51 p.m. - "We don't want anything to look corny, and we don't want to copy any other movies or television shows," Trevino says about the werewolf transformation. "He's going to look like Michael J. Fox in 'Teen Wolf,'" Wesley adds. Williamson promises that we will see the transformation under a full moon.

4:53 p.m. - Anna's death is going to have a real affect on Damon, since he had to watch it happen.

4:55 p.m. - Wishes for their characters: McQueen wants Jeremy to become more involved in fighting. He's got a big journey ahead, becoming a man. Davis would like to compel Kevin and Julie to allow Alaric and Aunt Jenna to have a filthy, dirty sex scene.

Paul thinks Stefan should join a traveling circus... and he enjoyed indulging in the blood. He wants Paul to take part in maniacal, malicious activity. He wants to do a flashback of Stefan and Lexi in the 1980s dancing to bad music. Nina would like to see Elena take on Katherine. Ian wants to see the evolution of the characters: Damon front and center at a Rolling Stones concert in 1969. "With a mullet," Paul says.

Michael wants Tyler to be on screen for a whole page and a half, instead of 2/8 of a page. He'd also like some Lockwood flashbacks.

5:00 p.m. - Paul just discovered the sign that says that members of the audience may be under 18. We think Matt Davis needs to leave now.

5:02 p.m. - Nina wants to know what Katherine's been up to in the last 150 years. "She had a hot dog stand," Ian says.

5:03 p.m. - Nina says Stefan is attractive because of his commitment and unconditional love. "Damon just wants to sleep with her," Ian says. Nina thinks it's attractive that he's fun and spontaneous.

5:04 p.m. - Nina says that Paul is much funnier than Stefan. And Ian is exactly like his character.

5:06 p.m. - Ian says that Damon's humanity is "a pain in the ass." He and Paul both loved the scene in the bar where Stefan and Damon made fun of themselves. They also like the flashback scenes because the brothers love each other so much and are so enthusiastic.

5:08 p.m. - Ian has decided not to judge Damon, even for really really bad stuff that he might do, so finding justification for it in his mind can be a little weird sometimes.

5:09 p.m. - The fangs only come in for the bites, because Siega doesn't want them to have to act in them.

5:10 p.m. - Ian's bummed that they don't have to wear the red contacts anymore because it helps him feel transformed.

5:12 p.m. - Paul says that in a movie version of his life, he'd like to be played by Ian Somerhalder. Julie would like to be played by Paul's hair. Nina would be played by Emmanuelle Chriqui from "Entourage," and Ian would be played by Steve McQueen. Steven R. McQueen would be played by Morgan Freeman.

5:14 p.m. - Kevin's special announcement: We're getting a taste of the Season premiere! We'll see if we can get you some video on Zap2it.

Zap2it Elite Sheet Must Reads from the Web's In-Crowd

L.j. Smith should have made it have a exciting ending. Not something that everyone expected. He messed up the hole set of books no because. You read the book and say "damon and elena are going to end up together they are becasue they are ment for each other" Then she slapped you in the faced ith a crap ending. I wasted my time and money by buying and watching the vampire diaires. She should by trying to make the readers happy. Not making them waste their money on something that wont even make them happy in the ending. And regret their spending money in the books.
