'The Vampire Diaries' Katerina Graham on Justin Bieber, 'Honey 2,' and 'Sassy'

Zap2it had exclusive access to the set of "The Vampire Diaries" in Atlanta, where the cast and crew is shooting the Season 2 premiere. Star Katerina Graham was sweet enough to stop by the location on her day off just to chat with me about her incredible summer. It was humid and approaching 100 degrees on set, so I have to give her major props for bravely venturing out of the air conditioning for our interview in the backyard of the magnificent Lockwood mansion.
While some TV stars use their hiatus time to hang out by the pool or get into trouble in Hollywood, Kat doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word "vacation." Not only did she snag a lead role in "Honey 2," but she dropped her first single "Sassy" and, yes, made an appearance in Justin Bieber's "Somebody to Love" video.
"That's the homie," Graham says. "I've known him for a while and he's just a really cool dude." She's always grateful for an opportunity to show off her dance training, since Bonnie on "The Vampire Diaries" hasn't exactly been in a dance battle mood since the Salvatore brothers got her grandmother killed.
"I've always wanted to do a dance film," she says about "Honey 2," which also features Audrina Patridge from "The Hills." Kat's character, who she describes as a "hood chick," is 17-year-old Maria Bennett, who has a run-in with the law and then is inspired to dance when she returns to her childhood rec center.
Kat's own music career has been gaining momentum. "Sassy" was released on June 26 and has already generated serious buzz - and its own hashtag on Twitter. What more can you ask for?

i heard Honey 2 is going straight to video so big whoop.
Wow, Kat Graham even manages to make sweltering-heat-hair look fashionable.
Two of her scenes were some of the most powerful of the series, the Paranormal Activity-esque scene and the one where they played the cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run'. I hope to see her flex her acting muscles further in the coming season.
@Sammi - Ah yes, the days of VHS and when 'going straight to video' was some sort of imaginary (going to theatres first was never an guarantee a film was good), negative indicator.
Most of the best films I've watched the past decade were straight-to-DVD or had very limited (even by festival standards) releases. So please join us in the 21st century.

The first Honey was awful and a huge flop at the box office. So I'm shocked they made a second one. And the fact that it's straight to DVD means it'll be terrible too. Sure would like to know what movies you're talking about M. Nestor.

I disagree Honey was a very good movie and maybe it didnt do well at the box office but that just means that it wasnt promoted well. Jessica Alba was wonderfull.
As for Honey 2 I am looking forward to see how they handle it and will watch it on Vhs or Dvd or at the theater.
And Jetta you never like anything you must put Oscar the Grouch to shame and frankly I am so tired of your comments on every site that I completely ignore anything you have to say.
