'The Hills' finale: Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner say goodbye

For those of us who have been unhealthily invested in the lives of Kristin Cavallari and her friends since "Laguna Beach" premiered in 2004, the July 13 finale of "The Hills" is going to be bittersweet.

On one hand, one of our favorite shows is ending... and on the other hand, we can finally move on with our lives!

MTV has released the first clip from the series finale, in which Cavallari tells her ex-boyfriend and former friend-with-benefits, Brody Jenner, that she's leaving town. "I'm bored here, you know?" she says. It must be nice to skip town because you're bored!

Sure, it's hard to suspend disbelief at this point, when we know that the story lines are mostly fabricated -- just this week, Stephanie Pratt told us that sometimes she gets distracted during scenes and asks, "What was my line? What were we talking about?" Still, who can't relate to crushing on someone who is... actually dating Avril Lavigne?

Okay. Bad example.

Regardless of how the story ends, we're especially looking forward to "The Hills After-Show," airing following the finale. The return of Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port will be a nice way to look back at these six years of drama-drama-drama.
