Sara Gilbert: Will you watch her version of 'The View'?
It was recently announced that CBS is launching a "View"-like talk show featuring "The Early Show" co-host Julie Chen, "America's Got Talent" judge Sharon Osbourne ... and Sara Gilbert?Gilbert actually developed the show, which the network says will "examine topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes of mothers." Gilbert may seem like an odd choice for the panel, but we would like to offer some arguments in favor of her inclusion.
She's intelligent
Gilbert graduated with honors from Yale University in 1997. We aren't saying that Ivy League schools are the end-all, be-all, but it's nothing to scoff at either. She also has always seemed poised, well-spoken and smart in interviews. She brings a keen intellect to the panel.
She's been around show business a long time
Gilbert is the sister of Melissa Gilbert ("Little House on the Prairie") and decided at a young age to follow in her sister's footsteps. She was a staple of "Roseanne" for its entire 10-season run, even penning an episode of the fourth season when she was only 17 years old, and has recently been in a recurring role on "The Big Bang Theory." Her opinions of show business and the phenomenon of "celebrity" are well-earned.
She's the liberal voice
Just as "The View" has conservative panelist Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the CBS version can count on Gilbert to provide the liberal voice. She is a vegan, a known advocate for PETA and the AIDS Project (among other charities), and has been in a lesbian relationship with Allison Adler for eight years. They have two children together -- son Levi's biological mother is Adler and daughter Sawyer's biological mother is Gilbert. In a type of show where all opinions should be heard and discussed, Gilbert will provide an interesting perspective.
The combination of news personality Julie Chen, Brit Sharon Osbourne, actresses Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete and Marissa Jaret Winokur along side Sara Gilbert is certainly an intriguing one. We think there's room for another daytime round-table. What do you think?

I love Sharon Osborne!! She has grown on me with AGT
I think this is a brilliant idea. The View is getting a bit dated, so something young and fresh would be welcoming. Not to mention, some competition couldn't hurt.
I would watch the others - but can't stand Leah Remini at all. She's the Hasselbeck for me in this lineup - grating and not as smart as she thinks she is. (For the record, I think she's a decent actress - just don't care for her personality.)
I'd watch it if I were around during the day I've always liked Gilbert and Holly Robinson Pete.
I think its a good idea EXCEPT for
Leah Remini , i to am not a fan,
and Sceintology isn't even a REAL
religon. Its a fake orginization
to get as much money from
celebraties as possible, while
having the "power" to turn gay people
straight. Yeah, i can't wait to hear
her words of wisdom.
It's got the Chenbot, so count me in!
Sounds boring, generic, been-there, done-that to me. Another talk show, ho hum. Gee, Julie, it must be nice to be married to the president of your network, you get all the work you want.
Get rid of Remini and we'll talk.
I like the concept and I am a big fan of Gilbert, Osbourne & Winokur...but Peete is a mess and Remini is extremely grating and unlikeable and the Scientology connection is annoying and distracting.
Would love to see them replace Peete & Remini. Gilbert is smart and insightful, Osbourne is street smart and has a heart of gold and Winokur is "every woman".
FYI: Roseanne was on for 9 seasons, not 10. Research, research, research!!!!
