'Perfect Couples': Kyle Bornheimer in, Kyle Howard out

kyle-bornheimer2-320.jpgNBC is now 0-for-2 when it comes to casting actors from "My Boys" in its shows for next season.

Jordana Spiro has departed the now-midseason series "Love Bites," and now her "My Boys" boyfriend, Kyle Howard, is also leaving an NBC show: the midseason comedy "Perfect Couples." He'll be replaced by another Kyle, "Worst Week" and "Romantically Challenged" star Kyle Bornheimer, Deadline.com reports.

As with Spiro on "Love Bites," Howard's departure has to do with "My Boys" still being in play at TBS. Howard took the "Perfect Couples" role in second position to his current job. TBS hasn't made a decision yet on whether to bring "My Boys" back for a fifth season, and probably won't until it sees ratings numbers for its summer run, which premieres July 25.

Bornheimer comes to the job after starring in the CBS pilot "Livin' on a Prayer," which didn't make the network's cut for 2010-11.

"Perfect Couples" will center on Bornheimer and Christine Woods ("FlashForward"), who play a mostly happy, well-adjusted couple who represent the midpoint between the extremes of love-hate passion (as represented by David Walton and Mary Elizabeth Ellis) and insufferable perfection (Olivia Munn and Hayes MacArthur).

Jon Pollack ("30 Rock") and Scott Silveri ("Friends") created the show.

Why did they bother trying out for the parts if they knew ultimately they would have to drop out due to My Boys? I feel bad for them too because I doubt TBS is bringing the show back after the 4th season so they're going to be unemployed until next pilot season.
