'One Tree Hill' gets full-season pickup from CW [CORRECTED]
[CORRECTION, AUG. 3: A
network source now says that word of a "One Tree Hill" full-season order was
mistakenly confirmed last week and that Season 8 still stands at 13 episodes with a
possible back nine to be ordered at a later date.]"One Tree Hill" fans, we know you've been on an emotional roller coaster this summer, and we totally feel your pain.
The veteran series got a last-minute Season 8 pickup from The CW back in May, but disappointment set in when, at the CW's Upfront Presentation, Dawn Ostroff revealed that the network had only ordered 13 episodes, not a full season.
"We don't know if they're going to come back yet for 22 episodes each," Ostroff said in May. "They may. We haven't really talked about exact numbers yet."
As recently as yesterday, star Sophia Bush was unsure of the series' future. "No official word about 22 episodes for Season 8 yet," she tweeted.
Rest easy, Ravens fans. Zap2it has confirmed that "One Tree Hill" has officially been picked up for a full 22-episode season by The CW. It's a good thing that we've got a full-length season, as this may be the last Tree Hill sees of original cast members Bush, James Lafferty, and Bethany Joy Galeotti, whose contracts expire this year.
Congrats OTHers! We'll be watching right along with you when it premieres Tuesday, September 14 on The CW. Don't forget to vote for Sophia in the Teen Choice Awards -- if she wins, she'll be auctioning off her surfboard for Global Green to help restore the Gulf coast!

FYI, both Joy and James are also nominated(twice each, actually) for th teen choice awards. Sophia isn't the onle actress on the show.
Uh, are the other actors autioning their surfboards for charity? Mmmhmm thought so.
Yeah they always mention Sophia and vote for her for a teen choice award, but what about Joy and James? I guess the only way Sophia figured she'd win is if she auctioned off her board, otherwise she doesn't stands a rat chance against Olivia Wilde.
Why is every article posted on here a way to just do excessive Sophia Bush name dropping?
No I'm not voting for her bribing *** for the Teen Choice Award.
No I don't want to see her on the show anymore.
I only came here for Bethany Joy Galeotti. Who btw, is also nominated for TWO Teen Choice Awards author. Why not mention her?
Um, Sophia already has 3 Teen Choice Awards. So that blows your "theory" out of the water, Misty. Sophia's the only name mentioned because no one outside of OTH's fanbase knows/cares about James and Joy. They wont win. Sophia actually has a chance, and BTW she's auctioning off her board cause hse actually cares about the environmnet. Can't say the other cast members would do the same.
First off fat chance she'll win this time around when she is up against Olivia Wilde and Evangeline Lily. Who else knows about Sophia other than OTH fans. What is she some hollywood A list actress. Her movies have all bombed lately. And how does anyone know what the other cast members do and what charities they support, they just aren't annoying about it.
Kris people know about Bethany Joy Galeotti's musical and her work in previous gigs so stfu.
And what the hell does Sophia Bush do? Date her co-stars and act like a pretentious and self-righteous ***** on twitter?
Also does Sophia want a medal for acting like she's the first one to give to charity? Joy has done it all the time even sponsoring a girl in Kenya and donating to charities, and James had basketball charity games. Forget so easily do we?
Sophia is a lame and she'll die with One Tree Hill.
